It was a beautiful Perth, summery Sunday afternoon. Lucky it was a few weeks ago now and not during the current heat wave! The images from the day are being used to make a gorgeous album that their guests can sign and leave messages in on their wedding day. I love Hyde park. The big old trees with their roots raising from the ground, the lake all the greenery and there are even a few funky side streets that make a great backdrop for couples shoots.They were a great couple to photograph… Can’t wait for their wedding day! It was held at Mulberry on Swan. Was an awesome wedding! Working with this bridal party was heaps of fun! I spent a lot of time laughing and taking beautiful photos off course! I really liked the venue. Ceremony and Reception were held at Mulberry on Swan. It’s a beautiful location so we didn’t have to leave for the Bridal Photos. Took some really gorgeous shots of the the couple as the sun was going down with a vine yard and old windmill as the backdrop… Stunning! I highly recommend this venue. Check out a few of my favourite shots!

What a day...

This was a pretty cool community event. A great event for the whole family. All the profits raised went to the Japan relief. Lots of food and heaps of stuff for the kids to do such as;
Dodge Ball Competition
Bouncy Castle
Face Painting
Bumper Cars
Animal Farm
and much more!

The main event was Cockburn’s Largest Easter Egg Hunt which was free!

I highly recommend going to this event if you live in the area or close by, especially if you have a young family!

I recently photographed the Keep The Faith: The Michael Jackson Experience group. Being a big Michael Jackson fan I have to say I really enjoyed this shoot. Michael Jackson’s Dangerous album was the first CD I ever bought. The who crew really know how to whip out the MJ moves and the groups leader, James is awesome to watch! I really enjoyed this little festival. Some of the highlights for me was watching a Haka and seeing some people ride (or try to ride) a mechanical bull.

Kafmaron is the new project of Idris Judith, young artist from Reunion Island, mixing the sega rhythms with Reggae and African flavour. Where the magic happens!

I recently photographed Hot Paprika at the Guildford Heritage Festival. The festival was packed! I enjoyed the other performers just walking around entertaining the crowd. The day had a real family feel with heaps of little kids and families around. Hot Paprika not only played their “Dazzling Transylvanian Gypsy Music” but got the crowd involved by teaching everyone a traditional dance. I was surprised how many people got up the front to have a go. It was great! Local band Hot Paprika have been keeping alive the traditional village music of Hungary and Transylvania. Having learnt from Hungarian folk masters TÉKA, Hot Paprika intends to further refine their craft with a research trip to Hungary in December

Ozmosis Catalan Street Band: Roving band

Ozmosis are intrepid border crossers. They play a vibrant mix of Hispanic, Balkan and original music, all laced with jazz improvisation and skilful interplay. Masters of a surprising array of woodwinds, strings and percussion, their performance takes audiences on a wild and wonderful intercontinental journey beyond time and boundaries. Their recent inclusion in the Musica Viva in Schools programme has seen them taking this musical journey to schools with ecstatic reports from teachers and students alike

Commedia Academy

Commedia Academy draws inspiration from the Italian mask comedy form known as Commedia Dell’Arte. Whether directing theatre performances, performing for your school, or creating giant carnival floats, their passion is to promote this hilarious Italian Art in Australia and beyond.

Commedia Academy of Australia produces and performs work for Australian and International audiences. Founders Antonio (Giri) Mazzella and Giovani (Sanjiva) Margio met in 1981 and began working together, drawing from their Italian roots. They studied and performed with the Masters of Mask in Asia and Europe, in particular Antonia Fava of Teatro del Vicolo, Italy.

One of their show is called ‘Black Nonnas’. These are the Italian Grandmothers your mother warned you about. Whether they are mangling Italian folk songs or delighting the crowd with their slapstick antics, they always leave the audience wanting more.

It was a hot! But what an amazing wedding! I’ve got so many favourite shots from this wedding its hard for me to chose which to post. Normally I wouldn’t post so many photos to my blog but I just couldn’t decide and there were heaps that probably could have made the list as well! This wedding was down south of Perth in Margret River. The reception and ceremony were at Caves House (www.caveshousehotel.com.au) and we took most of the Bridal Portraits at Cape Naturaliste Vineyard (www.capenaturalistevineyard.com.au). The reception was pretty cool and unique! I believe it was the first outdoor reception Caves House have held before. It was on the Emily Rose Terrace, which is usually a ceremony site at Caves House. What a success that turned out to be! The hot weather was perfect for an outdoor reception and the terrace looked amazing with the garden surrounds and hanging lights from the large tree covering the area.

Check out some of my snaps below. What a good looking couple and very much in love! Everytime I asked them to kiss for a shot it turned into a 5 minute make out session haha! Sharon, the bride looked gorgeous. Their is a particular shot of her by a window that I just absolutely love! I have to add when I went down Cape Naturalist a few weeks before the big day to check out the venue, the owner Craig not only forced me to taste his wines (te hehe) but gave me a tour of the vineyard and showed me of the scenic spots on his property. Big thanks to Craig, I look forward to drinking all the bottles of wine I bought! Anyway enough from me, check out below

Definitely a fine example of the quality blues based acts that Western Australia have to offer, Natalie Gillespie Dave brewer band.

Natalie Gillespie is a female singer songwriter whose powerful songs take us on a journey many miles deep. Having toured nationally and internationally with Yothu Yindi, Natalie is currently recording her second album with well loved blues musicians Dave Brewer and Lucky Oceans. Ranging in styles from soulful folk to acoustic rock Natalie is a passionate storyteller with a universal message of struggle, hope and joy.

Dave Brewer is a nationally acclaimed blues virtuoso guitarist and an amazing musician. Despite having played professionally since the mid 1970′s and contributing original songs to many CD’s of his past bands, this new album – The Life of Riley, is Dave’s debut release! Featuring 10 original compositions, the album represents the culmination of the many styles of music that Dave has played over the years. Given the melding of Blues, Reggae, Soul, Funk, Afro etc. that can be heard on this CD, all songs have a cohesiveness throughout.

In 2000, Dave moved from Sydney back to his hometown of Perth and since then has been playing regularly with his own band, the Dave Brewer Band, The Lucky Oceans Band (“Secret Steel” CD released through Head Records), Natalie Gillespie, Diamond Dave & the DooDaddies and others.

Together the band plays a mix of soul, smooth funk, blues, originals and classics and Natalie has a pretty exotic stage persona.
